Linkin Park Sweat To The Hits On Live CD And DVD

Live in Texas chronicles Summer Sanitarium performances.

Most audience members at this year's Summer Sanitarium concerts were there to see Metallica. That left the opening bands — Mudvayne, Deftones, Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit — working extra hard to win over the crowd. And that's exactly why Linkin Park decided to release a live CD and DVD package from their Texas Sanitarium performances.

Live in Texas, due next month, is culled from material filmed and recorded during an August 2 show at Houston's Reliant Stadium and an August 3 concert in Irving's Texas Stadium (see "Linkin Park's Sanitarium Stay Documented On Live CD/DVD"). The band went on before sundown both days and played in scorching heat. In the process of sweating to the hits, they rocked up a storm.

The discs will feature tracks from both of their albums, 2000's Hybrid Theory and 2003's Meteora — recently certified triple-platinum by the RIAA — as well as breaks and beats from their 2002 remix disc, Reanimation. Tracks include "Crawling," "In the End," "Don't Stay," "Somewhere I Belong," "Numb," "From the Inside" and "One Step Closer."

The band will perform at this year's Smokeout Festival November 15 in San Bernardino, California. Other confirmed acts include Cypress Hill and Pennywise. Linkin Park will announce a headlining tour for Meteora in the coming days.
