New Releases: The Neptunes, Alien Ant Farm, Bow Wow, Jessica Simpson, Juelz Santana, Neil Young & More

As Kermit the Frog and Neil Young know, it’s not easy being Green.

Greendale,Young’s latest project, is a concept album about the fictional Green family and the fictional California town of Greendale. The CD/DVD set features songs about politics, the environment and the media, in addition to live concert footage.

The Neptunes Present … Clones is a compilation that may as well be called Pharrell and Friends because one-half of the Neptunes appears on more than half of the tracks. He collaborates with Busta Rhymes, the Clipse, Jay-Z, N.O.R.E. and Dirt McGirt (a.k.a. Old Dirty Bastard).

truANT, Alien Ant Farm’s first album since the band’s May 2002 bus crash, serves up more anthemic rock, like the lead single, “These Days,” as well as the serious tune “Sarah Wynn,” about a drug-addicted friend.

Adema’s on Unstable ground, as their latest effort finds them moving away from angsty nü-metal and toward more melodic rock. Plus, Adema also tackle the subject of drug addiction on “Needles.”

Bow Wow gets Unleashed this week and gets a chance to show off his new, non-Lil’ status. Baby guest stars in his Jazzy Pha-produced first single, “Let’s Get Down.”

Juelz Santana is in a giving mood this week as he bestows From Me to U on his fans. Cam’ron and his fellow Diplomats appear on the record, as does T.I., whose own Trap Muzik comes out this week.

On Jessica Simpson’s In This Skin, the pop singer maintains the good-girl image that made her popular and delivers the Diane Warren ballad “Sweetest Sin” among the other sweet numbers that Simpson co-wrote.

Guided by Voices stick us with some Earthquake Glue, while Coal Chamber spend this week Giving the Devil His Due, and Michael Franti puts his money where his mouth is this week as he releases Everybody Deserves Music.
