"Piglet's Big Movie," the Stephen King horror thriller "Dreamcatcher" and the lowbrow comedies "Boat Trip" and "View From the Top" hit theaters this weekend, when many Americans are expected to seek out a bit of escapism at the movies.
Gwyneth Paltrow ("Shallow Hal"), Christina Applegate ("Married With Children") and Rob Lowe ("The West Wing") star in the flight-attendant farce "View From the Top," which includes an extended cameo from Mike Myers ("Austin Powers"). (Click to see "View From the Top" photos.)
Academy Award-winner Cuba Gooding Jr. ("Boyz N the Hood") teams up with Horatio Sanz ("Saturday Night Live") in "Boat Trip," about a couple of straight guys who find themselves aboard a predominantly gay cruise ship.
Based on the novel by Stephen King, "Dreamcatcher" is a dark and psychological horror fantasy about an alien invasion in the backwoods of Maine. The movie stars Morgan Freeman ("The Sum of All Fears"), onetime New Kids on the Block bad boy Donnie Wahlberg ("Boomtown"), Thomas Jane ("The Sweetest Thing") and Jason Lee ("Mallrats"), who was most recently seen in the flops "Stealing Harvard" and "A Guy Thing" (see "Selma Blair, Julia Stiles, Jason Lee Make Love Triangle in 'A Guy Thing' "). And finally, "Piglet's Big Movie" is an animated feature that sees Winnie the Pooh's sidekick on a mission to save his pals from danger.
