With Stripped on the shelves and the album's second single on the airwaves, Christina Aguilera is eyeing the future, and the crystal ball shows her on the stage and on the big screen.
Before her performance at Wednesday's taping of the VH1 Big in 2002 Awards, Aguilera said touring and acting are on her agenda for next year.
While no dates have been announced, she's already rehearsing for the outing. "I'm working with my choreographers, putting together some really amazing things. I'm definitely going to mix it up, put some acoustic stuff in there."
As for her thespian aspirations, the reinvented "Dirrty" singer is scouring scripts for the perfect role.
"Something edgy would be good," she said. "I like the kind of roles Angelina Jolie usually plays, like 'Girl, Interrupted.' Something with substance."
Aguilera may even make her feature film debut in something a littler closer to her own heart, a la Eminem, whose "8 Mile" premiere Christina attended (see "Christina Shows Up At '8 Mile' Premiere, Praises Eminem"). "I have some ideas of my own, so maybe I'll get with a screenwriter to put them to paper," she said.
Meanwhile, fans can catch a more personal side of the singer in her new video for "Beautiful," directed by Jonas Akerlund (Metallica, Madonna) (see "Christina Aguilera Follows Controversial 'Dirrty' With Inspirational 'Beautiful' ").
