In just over five years, Taylor Hanson has gone from MMMBop to MMMBoy.
The middle child of the three musical Hanson brothers became the proud papa to Jordan Ezra Hanson on October 31, according to the band's manager. Hanson's wife, Natalie Anne Bryant, 18, gave birth to the 6 lb., 13 oz. baby at approximately 7:19 a.m.
"We are so excited to start a family," 19-year-old Taylor said in a statement. "Having Ezra is the best thing we've ever done. Life and art are all about these moments."
Jordan Ezra arrived five months after the couple got married (see "Joey Fatone, Taylor Hanson — One's Married, The Other's Not").
Hanson the group have completed their next album, tentatively titled Underneath. The LP, expected to surface in early spring, should contain 14 or 15 songs, their manager said. While some guests are being kept under wraps, Michelle Branch, a longtime Hanson fan who was signed to Maverick after a label rep saw her opening for them, appears on "Deeper." All songs slated for the set were either written or co-written by the brothers, who also produced much of the album themselves. Assistance in the studio came from John Shanks (Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge), Greg Wells (Creeper Lagoon, Rufus Wainwright) and Bob Marlette (Alice Cooper, Saliva).
The album follows 2000's This Time Around.
