Alanis Morissette fans will get a chance to sate their hunger next month when the singer releases a CD/DVD package of unreleased tracks and a live concert called Feast on Scraps: Inside Under Rug Swept.
The two-and-a-half hour collection, due December 10, will feature Morissette’s entire set from an August 13 concert in Rotterdam, Holland; additional tour footage; and backstage and behind-the-scenes clips of the singer working on February’s Under Rug Swept (see “Alanis Morissette: The Silence Is Over” ), a spokesperson for the singer said.
The “Cherish” area of the DVD will feature a photo gallery of live concert snaps submitted by fans. Both the CD and DVD feature links to additional material online.
The CD includes eight unreleased tracks from the Under Rug Swept sessions, including “Fear of Bliss,” “Bent for You,” “Sorry to Myself,” “Sister Blister,” “Offer,” “Unprodigal Daughter,” “Simple Together” and “Purgatorying,” all written and produced by Morissette. The CD will also contain an acoustic take on the Swept single “Hands Clean.”
In an essay included with the set, Morissette calls the package “a conceptual scrapbook filled with snapshots of my experiences over the past two years. … The blanks are filled with personal footage ranging from the philosophical to the shameless as an attempt to prove to my future grandchildren that I, in fact, did use the word ‘boner.’ “
