There could be a whole lot of shady behavior at the 2002 MTV Europe Music Awards on November 14, now that Eminem has joined the bill as a performer.
While sparring partner Triumph the Insult Comic Dog isn't expected to make the trip overseas to Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi that night (see [article id="1457273"]"Was Eminem Out Of Line At VMAs, Or Just Being Real? Fans (And Triumph) Weigh In"[/article]), the bill already includes Foo Fighters, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Coldplay, Enrique Iglesias, Pink, Robbie Williams, Wyclef Jean and (watch out) Moby (see [article id="1458291"]"Foo Fighters, Whitney Houston, Moby To Perform At MTV EMAs"[/article]).
Given the barbs traded at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards between Mr. Mathers and the bald dance music star, things could get ugly at the ninth annual awards show, as Em, who is up for four awards, is likely to have plenty of mic time. The Detroit rapper has won the Best Hip Hop award at the event three years running.
P. Diddy will host the ceremony (see [article id="1457848"]"Eminem, Pink, Shakira Nab Most Noms For MTV Europe Music Awards"[/article]), topping a list of presenters that includes Kylie Minogue, the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams, Papa Roach, Nick Carter, the Calling, Kelis, Las Ketchup and the Pet Shop Boys.
Actors including Halle Berry and Pierce Brosnan will also present, as will Mercury Music Prize winner Ms. Dynamite, Sugababes, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Ronan Keating, model Esther Cañadas and Holly Valance.
The event will be broadcast live from the Palau Sant Jordi on Thursday, November 14 on MTV Europe.
