Although Britney Spears' Dream Within a Dream trek was marred by the infamous cancellation of its final show near Mexico City, Spears recalls some of the better times in a new book-and-DVD set that culls from her last world tour.
The companion collection will be released in late November, according to a spokesperson for Spears' management company. Although a specific date hasn't been established, its release promises to precede Britney's 21st birthday (December 2).
The book, tentatively titled "Stages," features new photos of Britney with her friends and family, as well as onstage and backstage glimpses that were snapped at various points on the road.
Culminating with the tour's final show, which ended only five songs deep when a lightning storm caused its stoppage (see "Britney Says Lightning Storm Forced Her To End Mexico Show"), the DVD chronicles the tour from a fly-on-the-wall perspective. Acclaimed filmmaker Albert Maysles, best known for collaborating with brother David on the 1970 Rolling Stones documentary "Gimme Shelter," assisted with the home video.
"I wanted to share with my fans all the things that they never get to see that make it all so special for me," Spears, who's still on a self-imposed hiatus from music, said in a statement posted on her Web site. "It's my way of saying thank you."
