Musiq Lines Up Tour With Goodie Mob's Cee-Lo

Crooner, MC team up for spring outing.

Though Musiq has dropped "Soulchild" from his moniker, the Philadelphia native says you can expect nothing less than heartfelt melodies when he goes on the road this spring.

"I'm going out with Cee-Lo," Musiq said Tuesday before his performance at Urban Aid 2 (see "Ja Rule, Jay-Z, Ashanti, Diddy, More Roc The Mic At Urban Aid 2"). "I wanna call everybody out to come out and represent, because it's gonna be something really good. We [did] a show not too long ago, and it was real cool."

Musiq, who's talked to the Roots about collaborating in the future, says he and the Goodie Mob MC vibed right off the bat when they crossed paths.

"I met Cee-Lo a while back when he did his show at the House of Blues in L.A.," he explained. "I always wanted to do something with him. When the opportunity came, his name came up, and I definitely called it out."

Musiq will have a final tune-up performance at his album release party for Juslisen (see "Musiq Soulchild Croons Conversation Pieces On Juslisen") at B.B. King's in New York City on May 1. From there he heads to Hartford, Connecticut, to meet up with Cee-Lo for the commencement of their tour at the Webster Theater.
