Pink, Papa Roach, Kid Rock, Train, Shakira, Nas and X-ecutioners are among the artists paying respect to Aerosmith on the second installment of mtvICON, scheduled for broadcast April 17. In addition to testimonials from last year’s ICON, Janet Jackson, Fred Durst, Method Man, Sum41, Ja Rule and Nelly will stage a video recreation of the Aerosmith’s classic collaboration with Run-DMC, “Walk This Way.” …

Fabolous plans to hit the studio within a month’s time to begin work on his new LP, tentatively titled Street Dreams, and he said that August is the earliest the album could conceivably drop. In the meantime, the Brooklynite is contemplating shooting a third video from Ghetto Fabolous, “Trade It All,” with Jagged Edge.Tommy Lee went all out for his video for “Hold Me Down,” the first single off his solo album, Never a Dull Moment, due May 21. The clip, directed by Dean Karr (3 Doors Down, Dave Matthews Band), features Lee frolicking among members of Cirque Du Soleil. …

Marilyn Manson will display some of his paintings at an art exhibition at the Tamara Bane Gallery in Los Angeles in August, the rocker said on his official Web site, where some of his work is available to view. Manson also said that he will play a character named “Christina” in a movie called “Party Monster,” which is set in the late ’80s and based on a true story about a party organizer who announces on television that he killed his drug dealer and roommate. … Ten Years and Running, a greatest-hits album from MxPx, will be released on May 21, a month before the band heads out on the Warped Tour. The collection includes two new tracks and new version of their classic “Punk Rawk Show.” …

Roberta Flack will join India.Arie in a performance of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” during a concert special for the Oxygen network called “India.Arie Up Close and Personal,” scheduled to tape Thursday at the New York City nightclub Exit. The show will air May 3. …Stevie Wonder will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and Garth Brooks will receive the Hitmaker Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards dinner June 13 in New York City. Previously announced inductees this year include Michael Jackson, Sting and recent Oscar winner Randy Newman. …

Diddy and the St. Lunatics have loaned their voices to a remix of Jermaine Dupri and Ludacris‘s “Welcome to Atlanta.” … Speaking of the D-O-Double-G, the laid-back rapper remade the Parliament hit “We Got the Funk” on “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker)” for his upcoming movie “Undercover Brother,” which opens May 31. Parliament’s Bootsy Collins will contribute instrumentals to the soundtrack, due May 21. …

Weezer are scheduled to shoot a video in Los Angeles on Monday for “Dope Nose,” the first single from their fourth album, Maladroit, due May 14. The clip. which will feature the band performing on a drag strip while custom motorcycles zip about, will be directed by Marcos Siega, who helmed the band’s last two clips, “Island in the Sun” and “H*** Pipe.” … Detroit rockers the Brothers Groove had a surprise guest at their show in Royal Oak, Michigan, Monday (April 1) when ‘NSYNC‘s JC Chasez visited the band after his group’s gig that night in Auburn Hills. Chasez took in the vibes and signed autographs for fans before heeding frontman Chris Codish‘s call to the stage, where he freestyled to “1-2-3″ because he didn’t know the words. …

 
Will Smith will lend his voice to the animated movie “Sharkslayer,” due in 2004, according to the Hollywood Reporter. James Gandolfini, Angelina Jolie and Renée Zellweger will also voice characters in what is being described as an underwater mob film. … Robbie Williams will release a DVD version of his hit import album Swing When You’re Winning in the U.S. on April 23. The Rat Pack tribute will feature footage from a concert last year at London’s Royal Albert Hall, a video of Williams’ duet with Nicole Kidman on “Somethin’ Stupid,” and a “duet” with old footage of Frank Sinatra. …

Hobbled country crooner Lyle Lovett was released from a Houston hospital Saturday in accordance with doctors’ expectations. Lovett suffered a severe broken leg three days before his release when a bull trampled him when he came to the aid of his uncle at the latter’s ranch in Klein, Texas. … R&B newcomer Mario, whose June 25 album features production work by Alicia Keys, will film the video for his first single, “Just a Friend 2002,” this weekend in his hometown of Baltimore. The song, a remake of Biz Markie‘s 1989 hit, will arrive on April 22. …

Depeche Mode‘s March pay-per-view special, “One Night in Paris – The Exciter Tour,” will be bolstered with bonus backstage footage and interviews when it is released as a DVD on May 28. A key feature of the disc allows viewers to choose their favorite camera angle among the 13 rigs director/photographer Anton Corbijn used to film the concert. … Queen Latifah plays a jailed woman who strikes up an online relationship with a man played by Steve Martin in the comedy “In the Houze,” which begins shooting this month.
