Ain't It Fragrant: J. Lo Adds Perfume To Merchandise Line

Singer/actress' new scent will be in stores this fall.

Jennifer Lopez is bottling up her essence ... and it smells like flowers.

The singer/actress is expanding her fashion empire to include fragrances, and her still-untitled scent — which should have a fresh, floral bouquet, according to a spokesperson — is due this fall.

Lopez's Sweetface Fashion Company, which designs clothes for women and girls (see "On The 6(-Year-Olds): Jennifer Lopez Plans Fashions For Girls"), signed a licensing deal Friday with the Lancaster Group to develop and market fragrances and cosmetics, according to a statement.

The line will be available in specialty and department stories where J. Lo fashions are already available in the United States, U.K., Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Lancaster Group, a division of Coty, includes in its portfolio of brands the perfume lines Isabella Rossellini's Manifesto, Esprit, JOOP! and Vivienne Westwood.

"I think people will find that this fragrance embodies the J. Lo brand's spirit, character, energy," Lopez said in the statement. "It is a true reflection of the modern, independent yet passionate woman."

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
