R. Kelly Out, Alicia Keys In For Urban Aid 2 Show

Jay-Z will now be sole headliner.

Guess you can say the organizers of Life Beat's Urban Aid 2 have broken even for the April 9 fundraiser (see "Jay-Z, R. Kelly, P. Diddy To Play Russell Simmons' Urban Aid 2 Benefit"). Fresh off her five Grammy wins, Alicia Keys has committed to perform at the show, but previously announced benefit co-headliner R. Kelly, who's currently embroiled in controversy over a tape that allegedly shows him having sex with an underage girl (see "The R. Kelly Sex Tape Saga"), will now not attend, according to a spokesperson for the event.

The spokesperson said there is no word on why Kelly won't be taking the stage at New York's Beacon Theater with Jay-Z to close the show as announced in January, but it evidently hasn't taken the wind out of Jigga's sails. He's now going to be the sole headliner.

P. Diddy will also perform, and Jamie Foxx is the host for the evening. The event's spokesperson said the bill is still being filled out; two more acts are currently being courted to join the roster.
