Linkin Park, P.O.D. and Alien Ant Farm are among the crop of artists lined up for the 12th annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas concert, taking place December 8-9 at Los Angeles’ Universal Amphitheatre. Sixteen artists will impact the weekend festival, with two groups, Staind and Linkin Park, serving double duty by playing both Saturday and Sunday, according to a radio station spokesperson.
The first day has a decidedly more aggro-punk feel, with sets by AAF, Blink-182, Linkin Park, P.O.D., Puddle of Mudd, Staind, System of a Down and Bad Religion, whose performance will mark the first time the band performs with original guitarist Brett Gurewitz since 1994. The guitarist-turned-Epitaph Records-founder rejoined the Southern California hardcore vets for their latest album, The Process of Belief, due January 22, according to an Epitaph Records spokesperson.
The following day carries an affecting pop-song vibe, thanks to slated artists Bush, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Remy Zero, Staind, 311, Travis and Pete Yorn.
Tickets for the December 8 show go on sale December 1, while those for the December 9 show become available December 2.
Proceeds from the concerts will benefit local charities Children of the Night, Para Los Ninos and the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center.
