It's not every day you run into Sheryl Crow, New York Giants star Tiki Barber and that cute little singer from the Pepsi commercials. You will see them all in the video "Everyday," though.
The new Dave Matthews Band clip, which debuts Friday (November 16) on "TRL," features a horde of cameos, including Crow, Barber, Pepsi spokesgirl Hallie Kate Eisenberg, "The Sopranos" star Vincent Pastore (a.k.a. Big Pussy), Conan O'Brien and the Blue Man Group, according to DMB's spokesperson.
Chuck McBride, a veteran commercial director, manned the cameras for the clip.
The spokesperson did not have details on the treatment, but a newspaper in DMB's hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia, where part of the video was shot, reported that it portrays a day in the life of a man who wakes up one morning and decides to spread love and positive energy. Judah Friedlander, who had small roles in "Meet the Parents" and "Zoolander," portrays the main character.
"He essentially walks down the street and gives people hugs," Mike Jurkovac, one of the video's producers, told the Cavalier Daily newspaper. "The song is extremely uplifting and positive, and the video captures that feeling."
McBride and the band were going to shoot a video for "When the World Ends," but decided to do "Everyday" after September 11 and Matthews' performance of the song on the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon (see "Dave Matthews Band, Strokes, Sheryl Crow Rethink Their Music").
The video marks the first time Matthews and crew have filmed a video in their hometown, the Cavalier Daily noted.
