Madonna To Release New Greatest Hits Collection

Set includes such '90s hits as 'Erotica,' 'Ray of Light,' 'Beautiful Stranger.'

Madonna has assembled some of her biggest hits of the last decade on GHV2, a best-of collection to be released November 13.

The set runs the gamut from her naughty 1992 hit “Erotica” through “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” from the “Evita” soundtrack up to a combined seven tracks from her last two albums, 1998’s Ray of Light and last year’s Music. The 15-song set includes no new material, unlike her 1990 compilation, The Immaculate Collection, which featured “Rescue Me” and the controversial “Justify My Love.”

Missing from GVH2 are some of Madonna’s best-selling ballads, including “This Used to Be My Playground,” “You’ll See” and “I’ll Remember,” all of which were compiled on the 1995 collection Something to Remember. “Take a Bow,” the biggest hit of Madonna’s career, appears on both collections.

A DVD/VHS from Madonna’s Drowned World Tour is also in the works, to be released on the same day as GHV2, according to her label. Details on that project have not been announced.
