French-Canadian singer Celine Dion will headline a five-hour benefit concert Friday in Montreal to raise money for the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S.

The show, taking place at the Molson Centre, is being fashioned after "America: A Tribute to Heroes," the telethon-like fundraiser that aired on 31 broadcast and cable networks Friday, according to Dion's U.S. spokesperson, who added that Dion will perform her hit "L'Amour Existe Encore (Love Still Exists)." Proceeds from the event are to benefit the American Red Cross.

The pop diva will be joined by nearly 200 Quebec artists, wire service Reuters reports, including members of the performance troupe Cirque du Soleil.

Dion took a respite from her three-year retirement from music to perform "God Bless America" during "America: A Tribute to Heroes" (see [article id="1449077"]"Mariah Carey, Springsteen, Other Stars Sing For America On Telethon"[/article]). Dion chose to go on hiatus so she could focus on having a family.
