Alien Ant Farm Preparing For Headlining Tour

Group's own trek will be followed by slot opening for 311.

Alien Ant Farm are in their hometown of Riverside, California, this week rehearsing the headlining show they’ll take on the road for two and a half weeks before joining up with 311.

“We’re playing some songs we haven’t played in over a year,” singer Dryden Mitchell said earlier this month. “We’re looking forward to playing longer sets.”

Mitchell and crew will play a pair of radio festivals in Salt Lake City and Phoenix before embarking on the headlining tour October 1 in Tucson, Arizona.

Alien Ant Farm join up with 311 on October 20 in New Orleans. Their itinerary runs through October 31 in Los Angeles, but Mitchell said they’ll likely stay on the road longer than that.

ANThology, which the band released on Papa Roach’s New Noize label in the spring, has recently gone platinum with help from the group’s memorable cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal.”

Although Dryden said Alien Ant Farm have not picked their next single yet, he is pushing for “Sticks and Stones.”
