Elton John To Embark On October Mini-Tour

Rocket Man to kick off string of six dates October 5 in Cleveland.

Elton John will perform his Songs From the West Coast in the Midwest and Canada on a mini-tour to celebrate the release of the new album.

The Rocket Man will kick off a string of six dates on October 5 in Cleveland. John was to wrap up the outing with a two-night stay at Madison Square Garden in New York on October 18 and 19, but those dates have been postponed due to the terrorist attacks in the city. They will likely be rescheduled for November.

Songs From the West Coast, due October 2, finds John re-teaming with songwriting partner Bernie Taupin. Stevie Wonder, Billy Preston and Rufus Wainwright guest on the LP.

“I Want Love,” the album’s first single, is garnering attention for its video, a continuous shot of actor Robert Downey Jr. lip-synching the words.
