Here comes the thumb?
An anonymous collector in Australia shelled out more than $24,000 for a piece of paper bearing the autographs of three Beatles and a pizza stain that may be one of the Fab Four's thumbprints.
It's not Ringo Starr's; the drummer was in London with laryngitis while the rest of the group was on tour in Adelaide, Australia, in 1964. But John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison each signed the paper for a fan while they were enjoying a pizza in their hotel room, Melbourne auctioneer John Roper told the Associated Press.
"There is a thumbprint there, but I don't know whether it's the pizza man's or John Lennon's," Roper said. The news service didn't report whether the group preferred sausage or pepperoni on its pie.
