Rick Springfield Breaks Arm In Las Vegas Extravaganza

Rocker/ex-soap star falls during stunt Tuesday.

The former Dr. Noah Drake needed a doctor himself this week.

Rocker Rick Springfield, who portrayed the well-coifed physician on the soap "General Hospital" while churning out such early '80s hits as "Jessie's Girl" and "Don't Talk to Strangers," fell and broke his arm Tuesday while doing a stunt in the MGM Grand hotel and casino's "EFX Live" show in Las Vegas. He was treated at University Medical Center and released Tuesday evening, according to a hotel spokesperson.

An understudy will fill in for Springfield for the rest of this week, and the show is on hiatus from August 5-13. Further details of Springfield's return will be released later, the spokesperson said. Springfield, who toured the U.S. in 2000, has been starring in the musical and effects extravaganza since January.
