Already boasting the top-selling album in the land for the past two weeks, Alicia Keys can now add yet another accolade to her ever-growing list the singer's "Fallin'" has been nominated for the new MTV2 Award.
The award will be handed out in September at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, where Keys will perform as well as vie for the Best New Artist prize.
"Fallin'" will battle for the MTV2 Award with Craig David's "Fill Me In," Gorillaz's "Clint Eastwood," India.Arie's "Video," Mudvayne's "Dig" and Jurassic 5's "Quality Control."
The category was created to highlight artists who had their musical clips debut on MTV2. The winning video will be chosen via voting at Video Music Awards home page on MTV.com.
In addition to the Keys performance, U2 have been tapped to grace the stage at this year's ceremony, where Fatboy Slim tops the nominees list with nine nods (see [article id="1445331"]"Video Music Awards Nominations: Fatboy Slim, Missy Elliott, 'NSYNC, 'Lady Marmalade' Lead The Pack"[/article], or click for a

The 2001 MTV Video Music Awards will be held September 6 at New York's Metropolitan Opera House.
Catch all the sizzlin', star-packed VMA action direct from Miami on August 28. MTV News' preshow kicks things off at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT, followed by big show at 8 p.m.
