Black Sabbath Ordered To Scrap Post-Ozzfest Trek

Ozzy's label demands he return to studio to finish work on solo album.

Disturbing news for Black Sabbath fans: The band's post-Ozzfest tour with Disturbed has been canceled.

The brief outing, which was to begin days after the multi-band metal extravaganza wound down August 12 in Holmdel, New Jersey (see "Black Sabbath Line Up Post-Ozzfest Outing"), has been called off by order of Epic Records, according to Ozzy Osbourne's spokesperson. The label is insisting Ozzy return to the studio to finish work on his solo album, which is scheduled for an October 16 release (see "Ozzfest Reveals Clues To Ozzy's Future").

Joining Ozzy on his first solo effort since 1995's Ozzmosis will be longtime Osbourne axeman Zakk Wylde, former Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo and former Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin (see "Ozzy Shows Nü Influences On Upcoming LP").
