Russell Crowe's Fans Plan His Band's Tour

'Gladiator' star playing U.S. clubs with his Australian band, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts.

The Gladiator is looking for votes, and this time it's not from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe's Australian rock band, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts, is determining the dates for its North American August tour based on a poll on the band's Web site, www.gruntland.com.

So far, five dates have been selected, two in Austin, Texas, which are already sellouts. More dates will be added, according to the band's publicist.

30 Odd Foot of Grunts, which features the "Gladiator" star on guitar and vocals, are supporting their latest album, Bastard Life or Clarity, which is available only at www.sanity.com.au.

Crowe and guitarist Dean Cochran write most of the Grunts' music, which blends Men at Work-like Australian rock with flavors of blues, country and folk.

30 Odd Foot of Grunts tour dates, according to their publicist:

  • 8/11 - Austin, TX @ Stubb's Barbeque

  • 8/13 - Chicago, IL @ House of Blues

  • 8/18 - Austin, TX @ Stubb's Barbeque
