Joe Strummer Bringing Global A Go-Go On The Road

Former Clash frontman touring with Mescaleros this fall.

Joe Strummer, former frontman of legendary punkers the Clash, is taking to the road with his band the Mescaleros for a handful of dates this fall.

After a set of in-store appearances and a one-off show in Los Angeles on August 4, Strummer will kick off an 11-date run beginning in Washington, D.C., on October 4. His next album, Global a Go-Go — which an Epitaph Records spokesperson said is in the vein of Van Morrison's soul-jazz classic Astral Weeks — is due July 24 (see "Joe Strummer Set To Release Third Solo Record").

Strummer toured the U.S. in 1999 behind his last album with the Mescaleros, Rock Art & the X-Ray Style.
