Joe Strummer, former frontman of legendary punkers the Clash, is taking to the road with his band the Mescaleros for a handful of dates this fall.
After a set of in-store appearances and a one-off show in Los Angeles on August 4, Strummer will kick off an 11-date run beginning in Washington, D.C., on October 4. His next album, Global a Go-Go which an Epitaph Records spokesperson said is in the vein of Van Morrison's soul-jazz classic Astral Weeks is due July 24 (see "Joe Strummer Set To Release Third Solo Record").
Strummer toured the U.S. in 1999 behind his last album with the Mescaleros, Rock Art & the X-Ray Style.
