You might expect Marilyn Manson to rest in his coffin on Ozzfest's nights off, but instead the shock rocker and his band have lined up their own headlining shows.
Marilyn Manson will play seven non-Ozzfest concerts during the trek, according to the group's management. The dates include stops in Alabama, Louisiana, Nevada, Virginia, South Carolina and Quebec.
The Black Sabbath-headlined Ozzfest kicks off Friday in Chicago and runs until mid-August (see "Ozzfest: Complete Itinerary Announced"). Other bands on the lineup are also taking advantage of the festival's off days, with Slipknot, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed and Mudvayne staging their own package tour on the side (see "Slipknot, Papa Roach Supplement Ozzfest Shows")
After Ozzfest wraps, Marilyn Manson will head overseas for some Japanese shows and European festival dates. In related news, the band's frontman has recorded sound effects and other material for possible inclusion in the film "From Hell," about infamous killer Jack the Ripper.
