Madonna Is Like A Virgin … Again

Early Madonna LPs re-released with bonus tracks.

For those wondering what Madonna was up to while Britney was learning to talk, the singer’s record label is re-releasing her first three albums, with hard-to-find dance remixes added as bonus tracks.

The albums — 1983′s Madonna, 1984′s Like a Virgin and 1986′s True Blue — were each re-released Tuesday with two extra tracks.

Madonna now includes an extended mix of “Burning Up” as well as “Lucky Star (New Mix),” which was remixed by producer/DJ John “Jellybean” Benitez, one of the key architects of Madonna’s early sound.

Benitez also worked on the bonus tracks on Like a Virgin — remixes of the title track and “Material Girl.” True Blue includes “True Blue (Color Mix)” as remixed by another Madonna collaborator, producer Shep Pettibone, and an extended remix of “La Isla Bonita” by Chris Lord-Alge, who most recently produced BBMak’s Sooner or Later.
The U.S. leg of Madonna’s Drowned World Tour is set to kick off July 21 in Philadelphia. Five new dates have been added to the outing, extending her engagements in New York and Los Angeles. Madonna’s New York run has added performances on July 28, 30 and 31, and her tour-ending California stay concludes with shows on September 13 and 14.
