Sugar Ray Get Animated For 'When It's Over'

Online-only clip depicts each bandmember in his favorite cartoon.

With a live action video for the song already hitting the airwaves, Sugar Ray have put together an animated clip for "When It's Over" that will premiere on the Cartoon Network Web site on June 4.

The clip — which turns each bandmember into a cartoon character — pays homage to the bandmembers' favorite classic cartoons, according to a statement from the channel. Lead singer Mark McGrath is portrayed in "Harlem Globetrotters" style, while bassist Murphy Karges comes straight out of Bedrock in a "Flintstones"-style sequence. Guitarist Rodney Sheppard looks like someone out of "Speed Racer," and drummer Stan Frazier goes futuristic as a character who'd be right at home on "The Jetsons." DJ Homicide gets his own unique treatment, the network said.

Fans can see the band acting out entirely different fantasies in the live-action video for the song, which is currently in rotation on MTV and VH1 (see [article id="1443390"]"Sugar Ray Dream Of Strippers, Kareem And Kung Fu In New Video"[/article]).

The animated clip will be seen only on the Cartoon Network Web site, according to Atlantic Records.

"When It's Over" is the first single from Sugar Ray's self-titled fourth album, due June 12 (see [article id="1442166"]"Sugar Ray's Next LP, Road Trip Due In June"[/article]).
