Ringo Starr Assembles Live Album From All Starr Tours

Three-disc The Anthology ... So Far due July 10.

It's probably not any sort of attempt to upstage his former bandmate Paul McCartney and his two-disc Wingspan retrospective, but on July 10, Ringo Starr will issue a three-CD live set called The Anthology ... So Far.

The collection will include 47 tracks compiled from all six of the past Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band tours. And what's a Ringo performance without a little help from his friends? On The Anthology, the ex-Beatle is joined by a bevy of guests, including Dr. John, Joe Walsh, John Entwistle, Dave Edmunds, Randy Bachman, Peter Frampton, Jack Bruce and Todd Rundgren.

This summer, Ringo will tour with a backing band that includes Greg Lake (King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer), Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Ian Hunter (Mott the Hoople), Howard Jones and Sheila E. The North American tour begins July 26 in Rama, Ontario, and runs through September 2 in San Diego.
