Petty, Heartbreakers Extend Summer Tour

No opening act announced yet for second leg.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will head into the great wide open this summer after doubling the length of their tour to add dates at sheds across the East Coast and Midwest.

After the first leg of their tour (see “Tom Petty, Heartbreakers To Hit
Road With Wallflowers”
) ends June 2 in Las Vegas, Petty and the band will take three weeks off.

They’ll return to the road on June 28 in Philadelphia and continue on
until a July 21 show in Indianapolis.

Petty and the Heartbreakers are scheduled to record a new album — their
first since 1999′s Echo — once the tour is over.

Opening acts for the second leg have not been announced.
