Sore Throat Causes Second AC/DC Cancellation

Singer Brian Johnson's distressed pipes force band to cancel sold-out Detroit gig.

For those about to rock in Detroit ... well, you'll just have to wait.

AC/DC singer Brian Johnson's sore throat forced the band to cancel their Wednesday (May 2) date at the Joe Louis Arena.

It's the second cancellation of a sold-out AC/DC show in two days. Fans had already begun gathering outside the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin, early Tuesday evening when word arrived that the show was off. Both shows will be rescheduled, though no new dates have been set, according to the band's Elektra Records publicist.

Describing Johnson's ailment as "nothing serious," the publicist said the band's scheduled show in Boston on Friday is still on.
