Incubus Incubating New Album

Fourth LP expected in stores by late September.

Incubus have begun work on their fourth album in a rented Malibu house, according to an Epic Records spokesperson.

Last week, the Calabasas, California, rock band started recording its as-yet-untitled LP with producer Scott Litt (R.E.M., Days of the New), aiming for a late September release, the spokesperson said. Litt also produced Incubus' breakthrough 1999 album, Make Yourself.

On Saturday, Incubus will leave the home studio, where they've hung their hats since January, to share a stage with Crazy Town, Black Sabbath and Busta Rhymes, among others, at the ESPN Action Sports & Music Awards (see "Crazy Town, Incubus Round Out ESPN Awards Lineup"). The group was also tagged as one of two performers chosen so far for Moby's Area 1 tour (see "Moby Taps Incubus, Oakenfold For Summer Festival").
