The video for "Schism," the debut single off Tool's forthcoming album, is being directed in Los Angeles by guitarist Adam Jones.
Jones also conceptualized and wrote the treatment for the clip, according to a spokesperson for the band's management, but what the video depicts remains undisclosed. Jones has directed videos for the band's "Stinkfist" and "Aenima," both from 1996's Aenima, and for "Prison Sex," off Tool's 1993 debut, Undertow.
From May 15 to May 21, the week Tool's third studio album, Lateralus, is released (see "Tool Album Release Pushed To Mid-May"), the band will play four U.S. shows before heading off to Europe for a month-long trek beginning May 25, according to the spokesperson. Dates and venues have yet to be announced.
