Juvenile Arrested After Fight In Mall

New Orleans rapper jailed in Miami after allegedly knocking man out with champagne bottle; court date set for April 18.

Juvenile was arrested in Miami early Wednesday (March 28) after allegedly knocking a man out with a bottle of champagne and causing injuries to his head.

The New Orleans MC, who turned 26 on Monday, is charged with aggravated battery with a bottle, battery on a police officer, two counts of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence. He was released from Dade County Jail around 11 a.m. after posting a total of $17,000 bond, according to a clerk at Dade County courthouse.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m., when Juvenile (born Terius Gray) got into an argument with Jackson Saintagne, 28, at the Streets of Mayfair shopping mall and hit him in the head with a bottle of Moet, witnesses told police. The victim was treated and released at Mercy Hospital, a hospital representative said.

As officers arrived at the scene, Juvenile and an estimated 20 others ran down an escalator at the Improv Comedy Club, located in the shopping complex, according to a police report. After a second and third fight broke out, Juvenile allegedly ran and grabbed a Miami police sergeant, yelling, "Take me to jail, take my mother f---in' ass to jail."

Other officers had to pull Juvenile off the sergeant, the report said. The rapper eventually ran to his bus, where he was arrested.

Juvenile is due in court to answer the charges on April 18.

The report said there were several other offenders on the scene, many of whom managed to escape during the confusion.

The case is still being investigated, as police try to locate other victims and offenders. Anyone with information is asked to call the Miami Police Department at 305-579-6644, or the Miami Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
