Their 1999 video for "Praise You" brought cheesy choreography to the middle of a mall. This time, director Spike Jonze and Fatboy Slim have something even spookier in store: a dancing Christopher Walken.
The actor was the "Weapon of Choice" for Jonze on the über-DJ's latest clip, which hits video outlets this week and will also be available as a bonus on the upcoming single for the club hit "Star 69," according to an Astralwerks Records spokesperson. In the video, Walken shows off his moves in an empty hotel lobby.
"Weapon of Choice" is the latest video from Fatboy Slim's Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars, which was released last fall. Parliament-Funkadelic's Bootsy Collins lends vocals to the track.
The single for "Star 69," which recently peaked at #3 on the Billboard Club Play chart, will be released May 8. German DJ Timo Maas, X-Press 2, DJ Godfather and DJ Delite provided remixes of "Star 69" for the single.
Fatboy Slim is scheduled to make a pair of rare DJ appearances in the United States next week. He will spin at Vanity Fair's post-Oscars party at Morton's in Los Angeles on Sunday and at Astralwerks' SPF 2001 Beach Party at the Winter Music Conference in Miami on Monday.
Jonze, who directed 1999's oddball big-screen hit "Being John Malkovich," has also directed clips for the Beastie Boys, Björk and Weezer.
