De La Soul, Busta Bringing Their Game To ESPN Awards

Rappers will perform at inaugural Action Sports & Music ceremony, set for April 7 in L.A.; LL Cool J will host, Rob Zombie will appear.

De la Soul, Rob Zombie, Busta Rhymes and Cypress Hill's B-Real will all suit up for the first ESPN Action Sports & Music Awards show, an event set for April 7 at Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheatre.

Busta will team up with De la Soul onstage for a live rendition of "I.C. Y'all," a track they recorded for De la Soul's last album, Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump. Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals last month were tapped to perform at the show as well.

Rapper/actor LL Cool J will co-host the inaugural awards show with former "House of Style" host Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Chris Klein, all of whom appear in the upcoming movie "Rollerball," a remake of the futuristic extreme sports film from 1975.

Rob Zombie and B-Real will help present awards in the show's 17 categories (10 for athletes and seven for musicians) along with actress Rachael Leigh Cook, sports figures Gabrielle Reece, Shaun Palmer and Rick Thorne, and Canadian madman Tom Green.

Nominees for the music categories, including Surfing's Music Artist of the Year, Skateboarding's Music Artist of the Year and the Music Artist Contribution Award, have yet to be announced. A complete list of nominees in the sports-related categories is available at www.expn.com.

ESPN will televise the show at 9 p.m. ET on April 10.
