"You and Whose Army?," "Knives Out" and "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin
Box" are three of the 11 songs Radiohead fans will find on the follow-up
album to the critically hailed Kid A, the band revealed Tuesday (March 13).
The band unveiled the track listing for Amnesiac, as well as a release date
of June 5, in its statement.
The tunes, many of which the band has already been playing live, come from
the same sessions that yielded the sweeping Kid A, but bassist Colin
Greenwood recently said that some of the cuts signal a return to more
"It's about 50-50," he said. "It's got more traditional Radiohead-type songs
together with more experimental, non-lyrical based instrumental-type stuff as
well, and it works as a record in its entirety, which is what we care about.
We didn't want to do a double album, with stuff from today as well, because
it would have been sort of the boring prog-double album."
And while Radiohead issued no singles from Kid A, they've already lined one
up from Amnesiac at least in Europe. "Pyramid Song" will be released
there on May 21.
