Son By Four Earns Seven Latin Music Award Nominations

Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Shakira also potential winners at April 29 ceremony.

The finalists for the eighth annual Billboard Latin Music Awards — to be held April 29 in Miami Beach, Florida — have been announced, according to Billboard. Pop-en-español act Son By Four leads with seven nominations, including Hot Latin Track and Billboard Latin 50 Artist. Nuyorican salsa singer Marc Anthony is also up for those two awards alongside four other nominations.

Wild-maned Colombian superstar Shakira, Cuban-American superstar Gloria Estefan and semi-Latin pop superstar Christina Aguilera garnered three nominations each.

Artists performing live have not yet been announced.

Three latin acts will receive special awards at the ceremony. Mexican norteño standard bearers Los Tigres del Norte will receive the Spirit of Hope Award, East Los Angeles Latin rockers Los Lobos will hoist aloft the Lifetime Achievement Award and Cuban congo master Mongo Santamaria will receive the Hall of Fame Award.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards will be broadcast on the Telemundo network from Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts in Miami Beach. The ceremony will take place three days after the April 24-26 Billboard Latin Music Conference.
