Courtney Love Unveils Lineup Of Femme-Punk Project Bastard

Members of Hole, Veruca Salt, Rockit Girl to hit studio next week.

Courtney Love is clearly not going to let legal wrangling with her label get in the way of rock and roll.

To that end, she has formed Bastard, a one-off female punk-rock powerhouse that includes former Hole drummer Patty Schemel, Veruca Salt's Louise Post on guitar and Gina Crosley of Rockit Girl on bass, an Epitaph Records spokesperson said. Love, of course, will sing and play guitar.

The quartet will work on songs in a Los Angeles-area studio next week, paying for the time with money from Epitaph.

"We're hoping to make a South of France, AC/DC, f--- off record," Love said in a statement.

The Hole frontwoman filed a lawsuit against the Universal Music Group last week, seeking to get out of what she called an unfair recording contract (see [article id="1441208"]"Courtney Love Countersuing Label, Organizing Union"[/article]).
