NEW YORK — Police are looking for a green van used as a second getaway car in Sunday's shooting involving the entourages of rappers Lil' Kim and Capone outside radio station Hot 97, a police source said.

An eyewitness claims to have seen two men involved in the melee jump into the van on the corner of Hudson and Leroy streets after the shooting. Moments earlier, a limousine carrying Lil' Kim stopped to pick up two or three other men who had been with the two who got in the van. Both vehicles left before police arrived.

Two other men fled the area on foot, according to the witness, who captured most of the post-shooting action on a videotape now in police possession. The witness asked to remain anonymous.

A security camera tape seized by police shows 20 people standing around at the time of the skirmish, but only eight were directly involved in the shooting, according to the source. Nevertheless, whether they drew weapons or not, "all the people were together, so they're all involved," the police source said.

Detectives have attempted to question Lil' Kim and Capone, but the artists and their representatives are "not being cooperative," according to the source. Both rappers, meanwhile, have issued statements denying their involvement in the incident (see [article id="1441083"]Capone-N-Noreaga Deny Any Role In Hot 97 Shooting"[/article]).

More than 20 shell casings from five different weapons were found at the scene, where shots rang out around 3 p.m. Sunday when Lil' Kim and her entourage were exiting the WQHT-FM building as Capone — half of the rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga — and his crew were entering, according to police (see [article id="1441083"]Lil' Kim Present At Hot 97 Shootout, Police Say"[/article]).

Words then bullets were exchanged, with one finding its way into the back of 31-year-old Efrain Ocasio. After most of those involved had dispersed, Ocasio took a cab to St. Vincent's Hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition and released Monday.

Police claim to have identified one man shown on the security tape, and they are in the process of identifying and interviewing others seen in the footage. As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests have been made. Police are asking anyone with information to call (212) 577-TIPS.

In determining a motive for the shooting, detectives are looking into the possibility of an ongoing war of words between Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown. Brown delivered the most recent blow against Kim on "Bang Bang," a song off Capone-N-Noreaga's latest album, The Reunion, calling Kim's album The Notorious K.I.M. "weak" and "lame."

Brown issued a statement saying she "was not involved in any way" in the incident. "I have absolutely no knowledge or understanding as to why such a senseless and violent act took place," she said, adding that her thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his family.
