Cannibal Corpse, Haunted, Lamb Of God Mount Tour

Dimmu Borgir also on one-month, U.S. trek by metal heavyweights, beginning, fittingly, Friday the 13th in April in Worcester, Massachusetts.

If you find the vibe at Ozzfest just too damn mellow, you'll be pleased to learn that underground metal heavyweights Cannibal Corpse, Dimmu Borgir, the Haunted and Lamb of God are pooling their dark resources for a one-month, U.S. trek, dubbed the Spring Neck Break Tour.

Cannibal Corpse bring their notoriously gore-minded death metal to the headlining slot of the outing, which kicks off in April on (fittingly) Friday the 13th in Worcester, Massachusetts. After the tour wraps in early May, the band will then hit the studio with producer Colin Richardson to begin work on a new album — the band's first since 1999's Bloodthirst — which should hit stores in October.

The trek will find black metal vets Dimmu Borgir making the rounds in support of their fifth album, Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, which is set for a March release. The tour also finds the Haunted riding high as the thrash outfit's latest, The Haunted Made Me Do It, has spent several weeks atop the CMJ Loud Rock Radio Chart since its release in October. For Lamb of God (the band formerly known as Burn the Priest), the tour follows the fall release of the grind-conscious New American Gospel.
