Black Eyed Peas' Warped Participation Up In The Air

Event spokesperson says deal has yet to be struck with hip-hop trio, contrary to earlier verification.

Black Eyed Peas fans might not want to rush out and buy those Vans Warped Tour tickets just yet.

Earlier this week, a source close to the tour verified the group's participation on the bill. However, a Warped spokesperson now says that a deal has yet to be struck with the eclectic hip-hop trio.

No strangers to the annual skate-punk outing, Black Eyed Peas graced the Warped stages in 1999, alongside Eminem, Lit, Blink-182, Sevendust, Less Than Jake and Suicidal Tendencies, among others.

The Peas — rappers Will I Am, Apl de Ap and Taboo — currently are touring Japan in support of their latest album, Bridging the Gap. The group is scheduled to play the South by Southwest Music Festival on March 15 in Austin, Texas, with fellow L.A. hip-hoppers Jurassic 5.

Weezer, as well as other previously announced Warped artists, including headliners Rancid and Pennywise (see "Rancid, Pennywise, More Confirmed For Vans Warped Tour"), are still expected to make the tour's summer rounds, which kick off June 22 in Phoenix, Arizona.
