Madonna/Britney Duet Not Happening ... Or Is It?

One camp says it's on, the other says it's off.

Vegas odds makers could declare the chances of Britney Spears and Madonna's widely publicized collaboration as an even "pick 'em."

The latest on the on-again, off-again pairing, which sent media outlets worldwide into a tizzy when word broke on January 4 (see "Madonna, Britney Spears Discussing Collaboration"), varies depending on whom you ask. Spears' spokesperson at Jive Records maintains that a duet is still being discussed; Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's longtime publicist, says all talks are off because of scheduling conflicts.

Smart money says go with the duet happening, as Rosenberg was denying that Madonna had plans to marry Guy Ritchie only one month before the nuptials took place (see "Madonna, Guy Ritchie To Wed In Scotland").
