Hinting at what's to come from the newly formed AOL Time Warner, the online service said it will offer downloads, music videos and artist radio stations from the likes of Barenaked Ladies, R.E.M., Sugar Ray and Vitamin C.
The promotion will use Winamp.com and Spinner.com to promote new releases from Warner Music Group's labels, which include Atlantic, Elektra, Sire and Warner Bros. Records. The promotions will appear on AOL's Music and Entertainment channels, according to a statement issued Wednesday (January 31).
Even before the AOL Time Warner merger, the two companies teamed to promote Madonna's Music in September, with an online listening party and chat that reached 120,000 fans, according to the release.
The statement did not indicate when the promotions would begin, and representatives for AOL Time Warner and Warner Music could not be reached for comment.
