New Tool Album Expected In April

Tentatively titled Systema Encéphale, it is expected in mid-April.

Details of the next album from avant-metalheads Tool are beginning to surface.

The title of the disc will most likely be Systema Encéphale, according to a source close to the band. However, a spokesperson for Tool's management company stressed that the band and its music are "always evolving," which leaves most facts about the band's third LP at definitely-maybe status.

Volcano/Jive is expected to release the album on April 17, which is not coincidentally frontman Maynard James Keenan's 37th birthday.

What is certain, however, is that the disc will be produced by David Bottrill (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson), who also worked on Tool's most recent LP, 1996's Aenima, as well as the group's latest offering, Salival, a collection of live and previously unreleased studio tracks from their decade-long history.
