Two-thirds of U.K. rock monster Stereophonics will touch down in North America for a brief acoustic tour in early February, according to the band's U.S. publicists.
Frontman and guitarist Kelly Jones and bassist Richard Jones despite the name, the two are unrelated will play a series of nine dates in the U.S. and Canada, previewing material from the upcoming third Stereophonics album, J.E.E.P. (an acronym for "Just Enough Education to Perform"). They will be joined by two additional musicians for the tour, guitarist Scott James and keyboardist Tony Kirkham.
The North American dates were arranged after the strong response to similar acoustic shows by Kelly Jones in the U.K., one of which featured a guest appearance by Noel Gallagher of Oasis, and another, an appearance by "modfather" Paul Weller.
