Police Request Video Of K-Ci Performance

Half of R&B duo is accused of exposing himself at concert; warrant may be issued, LAPD says.

Police investigating K-Ci & JoJo's Cedric "K-Ci" Hailey for allegedly exposing his genitals at a recent Los Angeles concert have requested video footage from sponsoring radio station KIIS-FM and photographs from a local newspaper to determine how they will handle charges filed against the R&B singer.

Hailey is accused of indecent exposure, a misdemeanor crime. Sgt. John Pasquarielio of the Los Angeles Police Department said 11 complaints were filed against Hailey on Saturday, and approximately a dozen more have been filled since. Each of the charges will be handled separately, according to Officer Danielle Lee, also of the LAPD.

Pasquarielio said that unless Hailey turns himself in, a warrant for his arrest will likely be issued. Lee said detectives were told Hailey returned to his East Coast home immediately following K-Ci & JoJo's performance at the annual Jingle Ball, which also included sets by Christina Aguilera, Third Eye Blind, Bon Jovi, Macy Gray and 98 Degrees.

According to police reports, several concertgoers stormed out of the Shrine Auditorium at approximately 7:20 p.m. and alerted officers outside the venue that Hailey had "grabbed himself" and "played with himself" during the duo's performance. Police set after the singer, but arrived backstage just after he was seen exiting the building in a limousine.

K-Ci & JoJo's spokesperson at MCA Records, reached again Thursday (December 21), said the duo had no comment.

X, the latest album from K-Ci & JoJo (Joel Hailey), was released December 5 and lands at #33 on next week's Billboard 200 albums chart. The brothers are expected to reunite with their original group, Jodeci, next year.
