Widespread Panic Plans "Another Joyous" Fall Tour

Southern jam band Widespread Panic will venture back out on the road once again beginning next month for a fall jaunt to support its newest live album, "Another Joyous Occasion."

The concert LP is the Panic's first release since splitting with its label, Capricorn Records, which had released the Athens, Georgia-based band's last six albums since signing the group prior to its 1991 self-titled effort.

"Another Joyous Occasion" has already sold more than 46,000 copies since being issued in May, while Widespread Panic's previous live CD, the 1998 double album "Light Fuse Get Away," has registered sales of a little over 130,000 to date, according to SoundScan.

During the group's summer trek, filmmaking brothers Christopher and Geoffrey Hanson shot over 450 hours of footage for a planned on-the-road/behind-the-scenes feature film on the band.

In addition to the upcoming tour, which will see Widespread Panic performing multi-night holiday stints in New

Orleans around Halloween and in Memphis circa Thanksgiving, the band has just lined up a pair of New Year's shows on December 30 and 31 in Atlanta.
