Chicago Bluesman Junior Wells Dead At 63

Wells' manager told the Associated Press that the bluesman passed away on Thursday after a four-month fight with lymphoma.

Throughout his career, which began when he was still a child under the age of 12, Wells performed with countless acts including Dr. John and the J. Geils Band, and toured with the Rolling Stones and Van Morrison.

Wells scored a few hits of his own, including "Hoodoo Man" and "Messin' With The Kid."

Before his death, Wells joined fellow musicians Erykah Badu, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Bo Diddley, Isaac Hayes, Jonny Lang, Wilson Pickett, Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton and others in the cast of the upcoming "Blues Brothers 2000."
