Wallflowers Benefit Children, Then Get Unplugged

May 6 [10:00 EST] -- The Wallflowers did their part for charity last Friday with a benefit for the Give Kids the World organization, which provides Florida vacations for terminally ill children and their families.

The band took to the parking lot of the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando, Florida to play for a crowd of 10,000, and eventually earned more than $20,000 for the charity. Give the Kids the World provides vacations to families with terminally ill children, covering the families accommodations, meals, local transportation, and admission to local attractions.

The Wallflowers then headed north to join Jewel, Maxwell, Fiona Apple, Erykah Badu, and Blackstreet in taping episodes of "MTV Unplugged." The new wave of "Unplugged" specials will hit the airwaves this summer.
