Jakob Dylan Looks Into His Crystal Ball

July 1 [10:00 EDT] — The Wallflowers are preparing to hit the road with Counting Crows for what some see as the hottest non-festival ticket of the summer.

The band has more on its plate than just that tour, and the group was eyeballing the future when MTV News caught up with the Wallflowers at a recent date in Texas.

“I’m going to go home and rest up a little bit. Then we’re going to go out with the Counting Crows in July and tour for the rest of the summer,” drummer Mario Calire told MTV News. “Or the rest of our lives, which ever comes first,” frontman Jakob Dylan added.

Beyond the summer tour, the band also has some loose plans for a new album, but no concrete plans have been made yet.

“We have a lot of songs, but there’s been no talk yet of when we are going to get in there to start a new record. So we’re just keeping the ideas in our heads for now,” [800k QuickTime] Dylan said.

On the more immediate future,
the Wallflowers can be seen on MTV’s “Unplugged” which debuts Tuesday night at 10:30 p.m. Eastern time.
